Making watercolour glow (fully booked)

  • Waterperry Gardens OX33 1LA (map)

The painted garden: art classes at Waterperry Gardens, summer 2017

Learn or revisit vital watercolour techniques to make strong, rich colours and smooth, glowing planes of transparent paint. Learn rarely described techniques for applying and removing watercolour (differently to oil or acrylic) to avoid typical watercolour frustrations, and how to avoid stripy or blotchy washes and the 5 causes of ‘mud.’

This class is foundational to getting the balance between control and freedom in watercolour painting. It is suitable for beginners and if you are new to my classes. However, it is also appropriate and useful for experienced painters who can’t always get watercolour to behave and want to build a stronger foundation for the medium.

  • This workshop is now fully booked. Please ask, if you'd like to be on the waiting list.
