Art_house_life is an annual contemporary arts project founded and curated by artists Joanna Kori and albedo marz, who invited twelve UK and international artists to participate this year.

The group exhibition is a cabinet of curiosities, taking over the entire ground floor of a cliffside house in Ventnor.

I’m exhibiting thirty-six works from two art residency projects facilitated by the Jelly, an arts centre based in Broad Street Mall, Reading.

The Birdsong Perceptual Field series was made in ancient woodlands in the first lockdown in 2020. The extraordinary birdsong of that strange time is the source for responsive abstract drawing. The project was supported by an Arts Council England grant for the Twelve Artists At Home residency, through Jelly.

The Soundings series was made in June 2022 at the Jelly mothership. The blurred sounds and echoes of the busy shopping centre (muzak, footfall, voices, and a pervasive white noise and building hum) become illegible scripts, intended as graphic scores for a music/art collaboration.
