About the paintings
Abstracting from the colours, patterns and sounds of woodlands, gardens and flowers, my work explores the solace of nature, and cycles of growth, connection, decline and renewal - physical and emotional - that we are intertwined with.
Exploiting the allusive, fluid and atmospheric qualities of watercolour, the works convey inner experience more than outer appearance. Whatever the apparent subject matter, the work is about embodied perception - experiences of beauty, the natural world, emotion and conversations that are not readily put into language. Or that remain unsaid and unsayable.
